BOOST brought to basketball (athletes everywhere rejoice!)

When you sit down and start to design a shoe, you always have to ask yourself, how will this shoe be better than all that have come before? With BOOST the answer is an easy one: having a technology that truly is a game-changer makes all the difference.BOOST is the truth. It delivers.

Thanks to Adidas South Africa, ballers got to give the BOOST technology a test run too. They were amazed at how light the shoe is, some went on to say that they’re ideal for guards who need to be very quick on their feet.

 

“How it came to life

Hi crew, my name is Robbie Fuller. I’m the Senior Design Director for adidas basketball footwear.When the BOOST technology was first starting to take shape, I was asked early on to give my thoughts for how I could see it coming to life.

We had a great download with the adidas innovation team (ait.), a.k.a. FUTURE. They shared all of the benefits they had observed from the first BOOST testing models across running and basketball. There were a lot of unknowns but two things were for sure: the technology was off the charts in “step-in” comfort and energy return.

It’s really cool getting to be involved with something that can change the industry. I was so excited to be part of this revolution. We got tons of feedback from athletes at all levels swearing that BOOST makes them better.

That lets you know that it’s not only a comfort experience in the store but it’s also one that delivers on court, too. It truly makes athletes better. Basketball is now “boosted” with the ROSE 5 and the Crazylight BOOST. First launched this summer at adidas camps and now being worn by some of the greatest NBA athletes during the 2014-2015 NBA season, BOOST has arrived.

It’s exciting times. After 1.5 years of seeing BOOST on running tracks, finally those wonderful energy capsules are making their way to the hardwood. “
